That Will Launch You Forward!

Workshop Theme: Dianna will be teaching her SPLAT approach to painting. It is a step-by-step guide to impressionist painting. Artists who find they are falling into the same old habits, will find this a refreshing way to break new ground in their artistic journey.

S - Select your image

P - Plan out your composition and color

L - Lay in the main shapes of the composition

A - Attack!  Paint as fast as you can without thinking about anything but the next brush Stroke. Then Stop before you are done.

T - Time Out! Think! Before you put on the finishing strokes, think about what you want the painting to look like ... Think about the finishing strokes needed to complete your plan.  Do this slowly and thoughtfully.

Every student will get a copy of the booklet and handouts.

Daily Schedule: Each day will include instruction, demonstration, and plenty of time to paint with Dianna providing individual feedback. Class will be 9am to 4pm with an hour lunch from 12-1pm. Bring a lunch or grab something from a variety of restaurants close by.

Incredible Setting: The workshop will be held at the Dorsey property with spacious, beautiful views. The property is conveniently located on the north end of Camano Island (WA) close to restaurants, a coffee roaster, and artsy Marketplace gift shop. Get out your paints to capture the barns, fields, and forests of this spectacular setting. 

Who Can Attend? All levels of artists will benefit from this workshop, but some experience painting in acrylics is recommended.

Supplies: A detailed supply list will be emailed to you upon registration.

Cancellation Policy: If you cannot attend this workshop, our cancellation policy is a 90% refund up to and including 30 days before the class. No refunds for cancellations 29 days or less prior to class.
