Enjoy the Lesson!

Here are a few tips for the mini painting lesson:

  • Stick to the time limit as closely as you can. It will help you to paint boldly without worrying to much about the details!
  • If you can, stick to Jed's limited palette or something similar. Using a limited palette helps your painting have a good color harmony
  • Bookmark this page so that you can watch it later if you need / want to!
  • Email [email protected] with any questions!

Jed's Supplies

Jed completes 99% of his paintings with just these four brushes! Really any brush will do for the mini painting unless it's super tiny. If you can only get one brush, we'd recommend a #6 for the mini painting lesson.

Jed's Palette is the incredible Masterson Sta-Wet Palette. It's a must for any Acrylic Painter. It gives you a convenient surface to mix your paints on but most importantly it keeps your Acrylic paints moist forever allowing you to mix back into your colors as long as you'd like. You can find more details about the palette HERE.

Jed uses Utrecht Heavy Body Acrylic Paints for his mini paintings! Because the names of colors can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, we've provided the pigment number along with the name of the color.

For the mini painting lessons, Jed uses simple 6x6 stretched canvases or canvas panels. The small canvas size will allow you to quickly finish a painting without worrying too much about the details! It's an excellent way to grow as a painter.
