10am PST / 1pm EST:

Farley Lewis

Painting Dramatic & Authentic Light

“When I look down a beautiful creek at sunset, and watch the play of light on the ripples, something comes alive in me, something I try to capture for others. That is my joy as an artist.

The ancient Greeks had a trilogy of virtues, three pillars they believed kept a society healthy: Truth, Goodness and Beauty. They believed that even if truth and goodness were to fail, beauty would rise up and guide the society back to solid ground. I believe beauty is powerful, whether in a painting, a Savior, or a well-planned city. Good paintings in a home are far more than pretty décor – they have power to create atmosphere, awaken dreams, change cultures and stir a sleeping heart to life.”

Farley earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Missouri State University. Since then he's painted prolifically. Farley is a respected mural artist and has completed murals in South Africa, Israel, Mexico, Canada and for Bass Pro Shops.

I can't wait any longer, sign me up!

Jennifer Bowman

The Strengths of Acrylic Paints

"I believe everyone is an artist in some way, whether it is the presentation of a fine meal or the construction of a beautiful home, the wording of a contract or the way a mother raises a child. Each of us has the ability to make art. Mine just happens to be in paint.

After spending nearly two years aboard a sailboat and cruising the West Coast, I really came to appreciate the quality of light and how different latitudes could affect the way I would see a subject. My favorite experience evolves around capturing warm reflected light on bougainvillea-draped buildings in Mexico. That same investigation of how light plays off of an item is what galvanizes me into painting a subject. It doesn’t matter if it is a ferryboat or a bouquet of flowers."

Jennifer is a decorated artist and her work is displayed in galleries across the United States.

Yes, yes, yes, I want to grow!

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Participate In The Master Series?

This 5 Session Master Series is hosted by professional artist Jed Dorsey and taught by 5 award-winning artists: Brian Buckrell, Jennifer Bowman, Aimee Erickson, Farley Lewis, and Angela Bandurka.

Although each demo has been pre-recorded every Saturday we will "premiere" a new one at a private YouTube link. Prior to each session you will receive the link via email.

The sessions will be community events where you have the opportunity to experience the demo with other artists and make new friends.

You can paint along if you want (you will access to a supply list beforehand) or just watch and paint later. You can also choose to just watch these demos and learn through observation, applying what you learn to your own work.

Each live event will be around 1.5 to 2 hours and will be hosted by Jed Dorsey. The sessions will be encouraging, inspiring and fun!

And if you are unable to make any of the live sessions, don't worry, you will be able to access them afterward whenever it is convenient for you!

Who is this good for?

  • Anyone who is ready to leap forward in their art journey, grow their skills, and walk along with 5 incredible artists through the whole creative process.

  • Painters who are currently experiencing burnout or difficulty overcoming creative block.

  • Anyone longing for a deeper sense of inspiration.

  • Painters who want to paint boldly and with courage.

  • All our artist friends who feel stuck in a rut and are hungry for growth.

How Long Will I Have Access?

You have lifetime access to this teaching. So you can watch and rewatch the demos as much as you want, catching all those nuggets that you missed the first time!

After each live session the demo will be accessible in your Acrylic University account (log in to www.acrylicuniversity.com to access).

What If I Miss A Live Event?

That is not a problem! The live events will be fun, but they are not required at all. You will have access to this teaching anytime after the premiere of the live event on our site.

You can choose to watch the demos when it works with your schedule!

What Supplies Do I Need?

To be able to participate fully, you will need:

A computer, tablet, phone, or other device that has internet access.

Some basic painting supplies, including primary colors (yellow, red, and blue) plus white & black, a few paintbrushes, and several canvases.

We will provide a supply list for you after registration.

Is This Only for Acrylic Artists?

Although all the artists use acrylics for their demos YOU do not have to use acrylics. Many of the principles can be applied to any medium.

Yes, I want in!!
